Our compliments to Athos' Radka for recommending exactly the type of hotel we sought: Clean, quiet, comfortable, and right near the main train station. Because we were first-time visitors to Praha, this meant a great deal to us.
Our only recommendation is to send Athos clients their hotel's address and phone number when confirming a reservation. We didn't have this information upon arrival to the Praha airport, and the transit kiosk there can't provide directions without an exact hotel address.
Positives
- Elegant, spacious, clean, and quiet room. Large bathroom with nice, huge bathtub.
- Big, sharp TV with BBC World and enjoyable Czech cultural channels. Phone in room.
- Generous breakfast and superb business-class services: wake-up calls, postage stamps and mailing. Very helpful staff on Ariston Patio side of street.
Negatives
- Key card required to enable lights, TV, and power outlets -- insane requirement.
- A few technical glitches: Bathtub took forever to fill. Bath drain broke. TV took forever to change channels. Breakfast coffee was mediocre.
- A few staff oversights: Previous guest's bra and panties were left in our closet! On Ariston side of street, one staffer still displayed grumpy, Communist-era attitude.
