If you need a 3* hotel with reasonable price and parking, situated in the center of Prague the Svaty Jan Hotel is for you. This hotel has a feature not fitted for the older travelers - stairs, many stairs - to enter the hotel, to go up to your room, to go down yet to the breakfast room and backwards. Another feature is the building itself - the hotel was the church house situated at the top of the hill and on its slope so there are some architectural peculiarities.

S ubytováním jsem spokojen nebyl.Recepční mi byl přiděle pokoj,pokoj byl hrozný a neodpovídal tomu, co jsem si objednal.Po mé urgenci se náhodou zjistilo,že moje objednané apartmá je obsazené, /to už vůbec nechápu, když jsem si jej blokoval měsíc předem a na objednávce bylo hotelem potvrzené/,proto mi vedení hotelu nabídlo dva samostatné pokoje a nebo pokoj větší v přízemí.Také mi při závěrečném účtování byla poskutnuta sleva ve výči 15%. Sleva dle mého byla malá, ale souhlasil jsem,jelikož mi v té chvíli nic nezbývalo. V jiném případě bych jiné ubytování. Když totiž vemu, že apartmán má 2 pokoje a já měl jen jeden, cena by měla být asi výraznější.
Takže souhrnem, s ubytováním jsem spokojen nebyl.Myslím si, že k tomu všemu nemuselo dojít, kdyby se dodržely podmínky smlouvy ohledně typu zarezervovaného pokoje.

very nice place, clean, good location, athmosphere, friendly staff ! Breakfast - ok for pansion. Sounds from the trams can be the minus, but we slept well even with that. Thank you !

The hotel is very nice, quiet and clean. Everything was OK, the transfer too.

This was one of the best Hotels that I stayed in that was so reasonable. The room was comfortable, clean and a great view of the ivy growing all over. I wish I had stayed a week there. I could open the window and enjoyed the cool air.and the view. The receptionist was so pleasant and very helpful. When I go to Prague this will be my Hotel to stay in. It also had so much History and it was in the court garden behind the church. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.

Great little hotel. Clean and friendly. Big rooms and OK breakfast. Coffee could be better though.
Only minus is the sound of the trams if you get a room on the streetside.

Despite the trams rolling past the window, we had a good stay. The staff members were pleasant - one receptionist recommended a good Czech restaurant one night, which was very good. If you have a late flight home they let you leave your luggage there after you have checked out of the room if you want. The breakfast was fine but lacked warm stuff (eggs which would have been welcome personally), but to be honest we didn't ask for them and I expect they would have made some. The hotel offer discounted excursions, but ask details because we were picked up OK, changed buses in Vaclavské Náměstí went on our excursion, but when we returned we were just dropped off at Vaclavské Náměstí and not taken back to the hotel. If you walk up the hill from the hotel 300 m max to the tram stop you get a wider choice. Tram #18 and #22 take you from there right to the back of Praha Castle. If you buy a transport ticket in the hotel they are only valid for one hour after first cancelling, but at only 80KČ a 24 hr ticket will be better.

Did not appriciate having the waste pipe from rooms above running through our bedroom. Every time somebody flushed I thought it had started raining. If you get put in number 11 asked to be moved.
I have never had a breakfast as poor, even for continental.
At £50 a night I would have expected more service.
The hotel is well located and very clean but I would not return.

Své připomínky jsem zapsal do knihy přání a stížnosti v hotelu. Velmi se mi líbí prostřední a noční recepční byla velmi snaživá, nicméně do puncu profesionality by potřeboval hotel poněkud přidat. Obzvláště zařízení jídelny (prostředí, nábytek i nádobí) podle mého neodpovídají tříhvězdičkovému hotelu, stejně tak kvalita nabízené snídaně.

Firstly, this is not a hotel it is a pension! The rooms were extremely clean. A couple of the reception staff were not so friendly and we were not made to feel overly welcome! The breakfast was terrible. However, the location was excellent and the pension is fairly cheap. The building is beautiful, especially if you ask for a room at the back overlooking lovely ivy covered out buildings.

This year March we were in the hotel and we were really surprised. Wat a nice hotel for a nice price and the people are really friendly and easy-going. Next March we have booked again because the rooms are big and very clean and the old centre is on walking distance. We have still private E-mail contact with the reception sometimes thats really nice and they remember us everytime from our last visit. Are we so special, no I don't think so, they were.
